1. Purpose of the Training:
This training aims to convey the details of the Environmental Conditions & Recoverability ELD element—introduced as a major topic in the ELD (Equipment Life Cycle Support) Fundamentals training—through real-world project experiences and practical day-to-day examples.
The course provides an in-depth understanding of the Environmental Conditions & Recoverability ELD element, which focuses on identifying, planning, and allocating the necessary resources to ensure that the system/product is used and maintained in a way that minimizes environmental impact during the longest phases of the life cycle: Use and Support. With effective Environmental Conditions & Recoverability planning:
- Environmental requirements are analyzed by examining relevant laws, regulations, and standards of applicable countries/regions
- Design inputs are provided from the early stages based on Environmental Conditions & Recoverability requirements
- Comprehensive environmental and recoverability planning is carried out
- Environmental performance metrics are regularly monitored, and improvements are made as needed
- As a result of these activities, the system/product can be operated and maintained with minimal environmental harm
- Recoverability analyses support increased recycling, which reduces environmental impact and lowers life cycle costs
This training provides detailed knowledge and practical experience to carry out Environmental Conditions & Recoverability activities in accordance with applicable standards and contractual requirements.
The training materials are specifically prepared by the instructor for this course, based on their expertise and referencing standards from various countries and organizations (ASD – Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe, DEF-STAN – Defence Standard, JSP – Joint Service Publication, MIL-STD – Military Standard, NATO, SAE – Society of Automotive Engineers), as well as widely recognized publications.
