1. Purpose of the Training:
This training aims to convey the details of the Workforce & Personnel ELD element—covered as a main topic in the ELD (Equipment Life Cycle Support) Fundamentals training—through real project experiences and practical examples from daily life.
The training provides a detailed understanding of the Workforce & Personnel ELD element, which focuses on identifying, planning, and providing the personnel and workforce required for the proper operation, maintenance, and sustainment of a system/product. With effective Workforce & Personnel planning:
- Workforce and personnel (both qualitative and quantitative) requirements are analyzed from the early phases, contributing to the design process
- Existing workforce is evaluated, and new personnel qualifications or numbers are assessed, managed, or informed through the ELD perspective
- Workforce and personnel planning is conducted
- Workforce performance metrics are regularly monitored, and improvements are made when necessary
- As a result of these activities, the operation and maintenance of the system/product are enabled or facilitated
- By minimizing the need for high-skill or high-volume workforce, life cycle costs are reduced
Through this training, you will acquire detailed knowledge and gain practical experience to carry out Workforce & Personnel activities in accordance with standards and contractual requirements.
The training materials have been specially prepared by the instructor for this course, drawing on their own expertise and referencing relevant standards from various countries and organizations (ASD – Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe, DEF-STAN – Defence Standard, JSP – Joint Service Publication, MIL-STD – Military Standard, NATO, SAE – Society of Automotive Engineers), as well as widely recognized reference books.
