1. Purpose of the Training:
This training aims to convey the fundamental principles of Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) through real-world project experience and practical daily-life examples.
LSAR is a standardized database used to manage the logistics requirements of a system or product throughout its lifecycle in a data-driven manner. Its primary purpose is to store the results of extensive Logistics Support Analyses (LSA) in a shared database—referred to as LSAR—so that essential logistics support information can be accessed quickly and accurately throughout the system/product lifecycle. These records also form the foundation for technical manuals and training materials.
Through LSAR, participants will learn how to:
- Centralize LSA outputs in a single data repository
- Standardize logistics data
- Enable fast and accurate updates to LSA outputs, manuals, and training materials throughout the lifecycle
- Ensure consistent and centralized access to reliable information
- Generate support-related reports efficiently
The training covers an introductory overview of ILS/LSA, followed by in-depth instruction on LSAR definitions and standards, table structures, Data Element Definitions (DEDs), and report formats. Using practical examples, the course provides detailed insight into LSAR data structures and reporting requirements. This course will equip you with the knowledge needed to develop and manage LSAR in line with relevant standards and contractual obligations.
The training materials have been specially prepared by the instructor using their expertise, referencing international standards related to ILS from various organizations and countries (ASD, DEF-STAN, JSP, MIL-STD, NATO, SAE), and widely accepted publications.
