1. Purpose of the Training:

Military operations consist of various types of maneuvers, each serving specific objectives with different organizations and tactics. One of the fundamental types of operations is defensive operations. This is a form of combat temporarily conducted to prevent enemy attacks and inflict casualties on them until conditions become favorable for an offensive. The Land Forces execute defensive operations integrated with offensive operations as part of a larger campaign or operation. Transitions between offense and defense or vice versa can occur rapidly and frequently. Different units under the command may simultaneously conduct defense, delay, counterattack, and offensive actions disrupting enemy preparations as part of the defense. These operations aim to stop enemy attacks, protect strategic areas, and ensure the security of friendly forces.

Offensive operations, on the other hand, are organized to neutralize the enemy, seize territory, and destroy specific targets. Such operations typically require intense planning, coordination, and speed.

A withdrawal operation is an orderly movement of a unit, either entirely or partially, retreating backward and away from the enemy. It is part of a broader maneuver plan to defeat the enemy and regain the initiative. Withdrawals may be conducted under enemy pressure or voluntarily and always require approval from higher command. These operations are characterized by centralized planning, decentralized execution, and often involve relinquishing terrain to the enemy.

Non-combat operations are conducted by the Land Forces beyond their primary missions of deterrence, combat, and winning wars. These may take place in environments where there is no conflict, anywhere around the world.

Special operations are typically high-risk missions carried out by small, professional units. These include intelligence gathering, hostage rescue, sabotage, or neutralizing key enemy elements.

Knowing the various types of operations conducted by both our own and allied forces, and understanding the environments in which the systems you design and produce will be used, aims to establish the necessary foundation to meet these operational requirements at the highest level.

Through this training, you will gain the ability to develop more appropriate usage and operational concepts for the systems you design and manufacture.

The training materials have been specially prepared by the instructor, based on their own expertise and with reference to our national and NATO standards.
