Field Data Management refers to the collection, organization, analysis and use of data produced in the field or operational environment. It includes the use of data to support decision making, increase operational efficiency and optimize processes.

Beginning with the Pre-Concept, reliability analyzes are mostly based on standards, historical data, assumptions, and information from reliability databases. However, since the systems or products produced are used/maintained by different people in different environments, the post-delivery reliability values can be quite different. For this reason, the data generated in the field during the period of use are of “gold” value and are very important data sources for both this project and subsequent projects. For this reason, it is of critical importance that these data are well documented, carefully analyzed and updated according to the results of the analysis. It is an area that is often neglected, since system/product procurement is the focus point.
